Unprecedented Gift to Transform School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering Thanks to the unprecedented generosity of an alumnus and his wife, Washington State University’s School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering is poised to stay on the cutting edge of research and attract the best faculty and students for the foreseeable future. That bold vision is a reality thanks to a $17.5 million gift from Gene and Linda Voiland to the school. As a result of the gift—the largest one-time commitment by an individual donor in WSU’s history—the school has been renamed the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. Clark, P.E., a vice president of Black & Veatch, has been selected by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) as the 2009 recipient of the organization's Engelbrecht International Achievement Award. The award recognizes sustained and significant contributions to the furtherance and improvement of WEF activities in the international field.
