Your Advisor and You

Each student in CEA is assigned an advisor who assists in the selection of classes and registration and provides counsel as needed throughout the year. Advisors help students evaluate career options, discuss academic problems, and provide referral to other resources on campus as appropriate. Students should meet with their advisors periodically during each semester to discuss progress and concerns. Because an advisor must meet with many students during registration week, make an appointment for a meeting with your advisor at a later time to familiarize him/her with your personal and academic goals. Your advisor can become a valuable resource person for future academic support and for letters of recommendation.

Computing Facilities

Student access to computing resources is available through the College computing laboratories in addition to others on campus. Engineering students have access to IBM compatible micro-pc’s and Unix-based workstations in various engineering laboratories. These computers are networked to the WSU campus data network and to the Internet. Check with individual departments to determine what access is available to you. All students may access computing labs (for a fee) in the Information Technology building, Goldsworthy Hall, Stephenson Hall, and Duncan Dunn Hall.

Residence Hall Support

When choosing housing arrangements, the College of Engineering and Architecture and the College of Sciences strongly encourage incoming freshmen to sign up for Gannon-Goldsworthy Residence Hall, which offers a living-learning community for students interested in math, science, and engineering.
